New Halotag ligands with exceptional brightness and photostability
BD566-CA and BD626-CA Now Available from Spirochrome
Spirochrome is pleased to announce the launch of two additional HaloTag™ ligands—BD566-CA and BD626-CA—built on Zhixing Chen’s outstanding new BriDye™ fluorophores. These dyes combine exceptional brightness, efficient cell permeability, outstanding photostability and resistance to photoblueing empowering researchers to capture live-cell dynamics with unprecedented image quality.
BD566-HTL
Substitute for JF549 halotag ligand
Exceptional Photostability: Under continuous illumination, BD566-CA emits 2–3× longer than competing red-orange dyes before signal loss, making it ideal for prolonged time-lapse or voltage-sensing experiments.
Outstanding Brightness: In live-cell single-molecule tracking, BD566-CA delivers roughly 1.2× the photon output of leading JF549 halotag ligand and up to 4× that of classic tetramethylrhodamine (TMR) labels.
Rapid, Clean Labeling: The oxygen-bridged bicyclic core balances hydrophilicity and lipophilicity for swift cell entry and minimal off-target staining.
BD626-HTL
Substitute for JF585 or JF635 halotag ligand
Robust Photostability for Super-Resolution: In live-cell STED imaging, BD626-CA retains over 50% of its signal for more than twice as many frames as leading far-red dyes, enabling deeper z-stacks and sharper 3D reconstructions.
Superior Brightness: BD626-CA outshines top fluorophores halotag ligands in single-molecule assays and delivers up to 40% greater bulk fluorescence under matched conditions.
Optimized Cell Permeability: The O-bridged motif provides just the right balance of solubility and membrane permeability for fast and efficient labeling without off-target staining
